Terms & Conditions – goodsong starlight songwriting competition

Eligibility

  • The competition is open to all songwriters submitting original songs.

  • Each entrant must ensure their submission is their own original work and does not infringe on any third-party rights.

  • If a song is co-written, all contributing writers must be listed, and permission must be obtained from each of them.

Submission

  • Entries must be submitted via the official competition page on the goodsong website.

  • Only one entry per person per month is allowed.

Deadline:

  • A monthly finalist will be selected on the 1st of each month from all entries received during the previous month.

  • The final deadline for entries is October 31st, 2025 (11:59 PM GMT).

  • The fifth and final monthly finalist will be announced on November 1st, 2025, completing a total of five finalists (one per month from June to October).

  • The final winner will be selected from these monthly finalists and announced on November 11, 2025.

Judging

  • Finalists will be chosen by Paddy Byrne and a panel of appointed judges, based on creativity, originality, and overall songwriting quality.

  • Judging decisions are final and made at the sole discretion of the judges.

Prizes

  • Prizes will be awarded as advertised.

  • There is no cash alternative, and prizes are non-transferable.

Rights

  • Songwriters retain full ownership of their submitted songs.

  • By entering, participants grant goodsong permission to feature their song in connection with the competition — for example, in announcements related to the finalists and winner.

  • Participants acknowledge that any future similarities between submitted songs and other works, whether through exposure in this competition or otherwise, are purely coincidental and unintentional, and do not constitute grounds for claims.

General

  • goodsong reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any updates will be communicated via the competition page.

  • In the unlikely event of technical issues, delays, or necessary changes, goodsong reserves the right to adjust or cancel the competition.
